ABOUT Margie Ahern, M.Ed.
I truly love what I do. It’s an incredible privilege to help people create meaningful, lasting change in their lives—often in a surprisingly short amount of time. The journey that led me here, to the work I do now, has been deeply personal and transformative, and it’s something I’m honored to share with others. I earned my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from the University of Massachusetts, Boston in 1994, where I trained in systems family therapy, as well as group, couples, and individual therapy. Early in my career, I quickly recognized that while traditional talk therapy can provide relief, it often works at a slower pace and sometimes even reinforces old neural pathways and negative habits. I knew there had to be a better way to help people make lasting changes in their lives—and that’s when my own path of growth and discovery truly began. In 2005, I began exploring meditation and mindfulness, and over the years, these practices became a central part of my own personal transformation. I attended 10-day and 30-day meditation retreats annually and developed a dedicated, daily meditation practice. Through these experiences, I learned firsthand how powerful mindfulness can be in quieting the mind, shifting ingrained patterns, and creating lasting change. Inspired by my own growth, I knew I wanted to integrate these practices into my counseling work. In 2013, I completed specialized training where I was able to merge my passion for mindfulness with my counseling practice. This was the turning point in my career, allowing me to offer a more holistic, effective approach to therapy that is grounded in both evidence-based psychology and mindfulness. My Approach In my work with clients, I bring a compassionate, supportive, and non-judgmental approach that meets you where you are. I deeply respect your unique experiences and am committed to helping you create a richer, more fulfilling life—one that’s filled with joy, peace, and ease. I believe that real transformation is possible for everyone, and I’m here to guide you every step of the way. Whether you choose virtual therapy from the comfort of your home, in-person sessions in Evergreen, Colorado, or phone sessions, I offer a flexible and supportive space for you to heal, grow, and thrive. If you’re ready to take the next step on your journey toward well-being, I’d be honored to work with you and help you create the life you deserve.
